Sony adds an action cam to its premium RX line

The electronics giant reveals its latest GoPro competitor.

Sony is going all out with its latest action cam, so much so that they're giving it the RX badging that is exclusive to their premium cameras. The camera is built with ruggedness in mind and comes straight out of the box with a wateproof body that's rated up to 33 feet without a housing, a shockproof construction that can withstand drops up to 6.5 feet, and it's crushproof up to 440lbf.

When it comes to shooting, the camera packs a 4K-ready 15.3MP sensor with a Zeiss 24mm F/4 lens, an anti-distortion shutter that shoots up to 1/32000, up to 16 fps continuous shooting, and up to 960fps/1000fps slow motion capability. It will also come to market with a slew of accessories that include a cage, an additional waterproof housing for shooting down to 330ft, lens protectors, and more.
