Roku strengthens its dominance with a new line of streaming devices
Roku is answering Apple and Amazon's latest entries with some brand new streaming devices of their own. The new lineup starts at $29.99 with the Express and Express+, which are now five times more powerful than the previous models.
What's bound to be the most popular item of the lineup are the updates to their Streaming Stick line ($49-$69), which will feature quad-core processors, 802.11 AC dual-band MIMO wireless connectivity, and a voice remote. The Stick+ version will have even more wireless range and 4K capability with 60 fps and HDR streaming.
The flagship Ultra model ($99) will be their most feature packed set-top to date with 4K and 4K HDR at up to 60 fps, ethernet connectivity, a micro SD slot that decreases load times for streaming channels, and a brand new remote.
The new Roku line is available now for pre-order and hits stores on October 8th.
