One of the most anticipated features of the Hydrogen One smartphone was the possibility of capturing images that were worthy of the Red name. Due to development issues with their design manufacturer, founder Jim Jannard announced earlier this year that the company will be bringing camera development in-house at Red to create an imaging system that would deliver cinema-grade visuals at a lower price point.
Not only have they announced an all-new Hydrogen Two with a new and improved camera system, but they have also addressed the long-awaited camera "module" that will be compatible with both the original model and the Hydrogen Two. Called "Komodo," the accessory has been teased with a single photo that shows off a lens mount that would turn the Hydrogen into a full-on system camera.
Timing for a full reveal has yet to be announced though Red president Jarred Land hopes to have units shipping by the end of the year.
