McIntosh releases a new version of the MC3500 that powered the sound system at Woodstock
Based on the amplifier that powered Woodstock and many other notable concerts, McIntosh releases a Mk II version to celebrate the original 1968 model. The 350W amp features eight EL509S high-power vacuum tubes that were chosen for its similarities to the 6LQ6 "sweep tubes" found in the original and are joined by a set of 12AX7A and 12AT7 tubes. It also features Power Guard Screen Grid Sensor technology to help stop premature vacuum tube failure, balanced and unbalanced inputs and outputs, and an output meter that uses a version of their DualView Power Output Meter design.
