
Apple unveils the M2-powered MacBook Air
The latest in Apple Silicon technology made its debut today with the unveiling of M2 and the first computer to use the chip is the next-generation MacBook Air. Fully redesigned for M2, the new, all-aluminum laptop is just 11.3mm thin and weighs just 2.7 lbs, a lightweight design that the company says is a 20% reduction in volume from the previous model. Available in silver, starlight, space grey, and midnight (above), the new MacBook Air features a 13.6" Liquid Retina Display, a 1080p FaceTime HD camera, a four-speaker sound system, support for up to 24GB of unified memory, a GPU with up to 10 cores, and up to 20 hours of battery life. It will also feature a MagSafe charging port with support for fast charging that allows for a 50% charge in just 30 minutes.
The new MacBook Air will be available next month.
