HTC and Valve join forces with the Vive VR Headset

The two companies deliver the latest competitor to the Oculus Rift.

With the largest online gaming platform in the world, Valve isn't going to sit calmly while Oculus has all the fun in the VR space. They've teamed up with HTC to create the Vive, a new virtual reality headset that will be powered by their upcoming SteamVR platform.

The headset will feature 1,200 by 1,080 pixel screens for each eye with a refresh rate of 90 frames per second to create a smooth, jitter-free image. One of the biggest differences between the Vive and the Rift will be their "Full Room Scale 360 Degree Solution" that will let you get up and walk around for a fully immersive experience.
