Corning's next-generation Gorilla Glass can withstand drops over six feet
Looks like you can skip the case for your next smartphone.
There is no denying Gorilla Glass's dominance on the smartphone market and this week Corning has announced its strongest version yet, Victus. Gorilla Glass Victus will greatly enhance the drop protection of smartphones with an impact resistance of more than six feet when dropped into a hard, rough surface. Victus also sees twice the improvement in scratch resistance over Gorilla Glass 6 and is 4x stronger than the competition's aluminosilicate-based glasses.
Samsung will be the first manufacturer to use Gorilla Glass Victus in an upcoming smartphone.
