Previewed earlier this year, Canon has officially taken the wraps off its new megazoom point-and-shoot, the G3 X. Targeting cameras like the RX10, the G3 X is built around a beast of a lens, a 25x f/2.8 optical zoom with a focal length equivalent to 24-600mm which should be more than enough glass to get the shot you want no matter how far your subject is.

The G3 X has a 20.2 megapixel 1.0" sensor and features a dust and water-resistant body, five-axis image stabilization, up to 5.9 fps shooting, a 3.2" multi-angle screen, optional EVF, and built-in Wi-Fi and NFC for instant pairing to Android-based devices.

For you video guys, the camera has full-HD 1080p video recording at 24p, 30p, 60p, a headphone and microphone jack, and you are able to manually control exposure and audio levels.
