Canon launches the EOS R1 and the EOS R5 Mark II cameras
Canon has unveiled their latest flagship full-frame mirrorless cameras with the launch of the EOS R1 and the EOS R5 Mark II. The EOS R1 is their new flagship mirrorless 1-series camera with a 24.2MP full-frame sensor, the world's first Cross-type AF system, a DIGIC X Image Processor with a DIGIC Accelerator, fast sensor read-out speeds, 6K RAW video recording, and a 9.44-million-dot OLED EVF with airtight sealing to help eliminate any potential for a fogged up viewfinder. Additional features include dual CFexpress Type slots, a 3.0" display, and extensive dust and water resistance.
The EOS R5 Mark II packs a back-illuminated stacked CMOS 45MP sensor with fast sensor read-out speeds and electronic shutter performance at up to 30 fps, a new focus system with an Action Priority mode, 8K RAW recording, and a 5.76-million-dot OLED EVF. The camera also features a DIGIC X image processor with a DIGIC Accelerator co-processor, an adjustable 3.0" display, slots for both CFexpress and SD cards, and support for three different battery grip types.
The EOS R1 will be available this fall while the R5 Mark II will be available this August.
