
The latest announcements from Apple's fall 2019 event
As with every fall Apple event, the company had plenty to talk about with the reveal of the all-new iPhone 11, an affordable new 10.2" iPad, a Series 5 Apple Watch, and the latest on Apple TV+ and Apple Arcade. Here's everything you need to know about all goods announced today and when and how you can get them.
The new 7th generation iPad revamps their most popular model in the lineup with a larger 10.2" screen that replaces the long-running 9.7" screen. It will also now feature a smart connector for compatibility with their keyboard cover accessory, Apple Pencil support, an A10 processor and more. The new 10.2" iPad is available today and starts at $329.
The currently undisputed king of smartwatches gets an always-on Retina display with the introduction of the Apple Watch Series 5. Built-in compass, international emergency calling, a new brushed titanium case option in silver or DLC black, and the ceramic option returns in white. The new Series 5 models will start at $399 for the aluminum model and can be ordered today with deliveries set for September 20th.
Two new iPhones were introduced today with the reveal of the iPhone 11 and the iPhone 11 Pro. The iPhone 11 comes in six new colors and features a 6.1" Liquid Retina LCD display, an A13 Bionic chip that is up to 20% faster than the previous generation, an all-new 12MP dual-camera system with ultra wide and wide cameras, and an updated 12MP TrueDepth front-facing camera system. It will also feature faster Face ID facial recognition, spatial audio support for surround sound, and Gigabit-class LTE and Wi-Fi 6 for faster connectivity.
At the top of the range is the new iPhone 11 Pro, which is comprised of a 5.8" and 6.5" model that boasts a Super Retina XDR display with a brightness of up to 1,200 nits and a 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio. It's big feature is a new Pro Camera System that comes with a triple-camera system that features a trio of 12MP Ultra Wide, Wide, and Telephoto cameras. It will also feature a 12MP TrueDepth front-facing camera, faster Face ID, spatial audio, and Gigabit-class LTE and Wi-Fi 6 high-speed connectivity. The iPhone 11 family starts at $699 with pre-orders starting this Friday at 5AM and will ship a week later on September 20th.
Pricing for their Apple TV+ and Apple Arcade services were also announced with both services costing a very reasonable $4.99 a month. Even more impressive is that anyone who buys a MacBook, iPod, iPad, iPhone, or Apple TV gets the service for free for an entire year. Apple Arcade will be available on September 19th and Apple TV+ will be available on November 1st.
