Acura unveils the limited edition NSX Type S
The second-generation Acura NSX is entering its final year of production and to mark the occasion, Acura is making every single 2022 NSX a Type S model. The NSX Type S gets an upgrade in performance with a three-motor hybrid system that now delivers 600 hp and 492 lb-ft of torque. This makes for the fastest and most powerful Acura ever made, recording a lap time at the Suzuka Circuit that was two seconds faster than the 2021 NSX.
The Type S will also feature a retuned 9-speed DCT with 50% faster upshift response and a new Rapid Downshift Mode, a retuned Sport Hybrid SH-AWD system, new split 5-spoke wheels, Type S-specific Pirelli P-Zero tires, enhanced aerodynamics, and a new lightweight package that includes carbon ceramic brakes in four colors, a carbon engine cover, and carbon interior trim.
Only 350 will be built and 300 are allocated for the US market.
