
Sony launches its new compact cinema camera, the FX3
Sony announces the FX3, a new cinematic camera with a handheld-friendly design. The lightweight body is similar to the compact bodies seen in its full-frame Alpha mirrorless camera line and features a 10.2MP full-frame back-illuminated CMOS Exmor sensor that is capable of shooting 4K video at up to 120fps. The camera also features a versatile design that's not only ideal for handheld shooting but is also perfect for gimbal and drone use. Additional features include multiple 1/4-20 UNC threaded mounting points, a detachable XLR handle unit with two XLR/TRS audio inputs and one 3.5mm stereo jack, a built-in cooling fan, 12MP still capability, ISO sensitivity up to 409,600, 15+ stops of dynamic range, and 5-axis in-body image stabilization.
