Shwood's latest sunglass collection uses a resin to make surfboards
Created in collaboration with Shaper Studios.
Always on the hunt for unique materials to put in its sunglasses, Shwood has teamed up with Shaper Studios to use its bio-based surf resin. Used to glass their surfboards, the marble-like material is a custom blend for Shwood that is veneered into thin pieces to apply to the frames. This is combined with Mazzucchelli acetate from Italy, durable five-barrel hinges, and Japanese CR-39 polarized lenses from Carl Zeiss, and sustainably-sourced woods in the wooden model.
