Born in Ginza, Japan, Kintario Hattori celebrates his 160th birthday this year and to celebrate the occasion, Seiko is releasing a special edition of the Astron. The Astron GPS Solar Kintaro Hattori 160th Anniversary model features a 42.8mm black titanium case with a black Zirconia ceramic bezel that is designed with six facets, each representing a decade since Kintaro's birth. The back of the case is also finished in gold and features the the trademark "S" from 1900 and his motto "One step ahead of the rest." Numbered in a limited edition of 2500 pieces, the watch comes in a special presentation box that includes an additional crocodile leather strap, a lapel badge with the Kintaro "S", and a message from Kintaro's great-grandson, Shinji Hattori, who is the current Chairman and CEO of the Seiko Watch Corporation.
