If you're wondering what in the world is going on at the back of that pen, Richard Mille has created a fountain pen with a mechanism that is just as sophisticated as their high-end watches. What they've done is create a self-winding pen calibre that helps extend the pen's 18k white gold nib.

Once the cap is placed back into the pen, the calibre is reset, rewound, and ready to go. As for the pen's construction, the barrel is made from NTPT Carbon and the mechanism features components made from Grade 5 Titanium that is electroplasma treated with PVD-coated bridges.
