With more and more linemen needed to maintain and build power lines in the 1940s and '50s, workers needed special boots to accomplish their incredibly dangerous jobs. Red Wing was put to task to build the ideal boot for power line work and thus the 2996 Lineman was born. The style is being brought back for 2016 with an exclusive release for Red Wing Heritage in Europe. The 2996 will be available today at Red Wing Heritage stores in Amsterdam, Germany, and London.
