Omega unveils the Speedmaster Pilot
Omega jumps into the cockpit with its latest model that celebrates its history in aviation with the launch of the Speedmaster Pilot. Inspired by the original model from 1957, the watch features a 40.85mm case crafted out of stainless steel with a matte finish to help reduce reflections. A matte aluminum ring with Omega's signature "Dot Over Ninety" detail tips its hat to the Speedmaster's heritage and it surrounds a grained matte-black dial with brightly colored accents for enhanced legibility.
In low-light conditions, white Super-LumiNova on the markers and hands emit a bright green glow and in daylight you simply can't miss the small seconds display with its varnished matte-yellow hand and blue artificial horizon. And at 3 o'clock you have a 12-hour recorder with a design inspired by a burn rate indicator from a plane's instrument panel.
The watch is powered by their Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 9900, a METAS-certified automatic movement with magnetic resistance up to 15,000 gauss, a silicon balance spring, and a power reserve of up to 60 hours.
Completing the watch is a stainless steel bracelet with a patented comfort adjustment system and an additional grey NATO strap is included and is reinforced with KEVLAR threads.
The Speedmaster Pilot is now available at Omega boutiques.
