Brain Dead is looking back to the early 2000s when Oakley was experimenting with futuristic sneakers that were way ahead of their time. One of these styles was called Flesh, a slip-on silhouette with a pod-like sole that looked unlike anything else out there. This year, Brain Dead has revived the style with the launch of Oakley Factory team, a new division that will push experimental ideas that draw from Oakley's past while using those blueprints to inform future products. While the overall design has been kept intact, the new limited-edition versions have been updated with oval gels to complement the organic shape of the shoe. For fans old and new that continue to seek out the original style, Oakley will also re-release the early 2000s version in one of its original colorways.
The Brain Dead version of the Flesh will be available on April 19th at Brain Dead stores and the Factory Team Flesh will be available on May 3rd at select Oakley stores worldwide as well as Brain Dead, Dover Street Market, HBX, Bodega, SSENSE, Sneakersnstuff, Slam Jam, End, Goodhood, and Pilgrim Surf+Supply.
