It's not everyday you see a Montblanc Meisterstück in wood and this wood surrounding the pen isn't just any wood either. The wooden cap and body are sourced from what is called the "Miracle Pine" which was spared from the 70,000 trees that were lost in the tragic Japanese tsunami in 2011.
Using a branch that was carefully preserved by the City of Rikuzentakata, Montblanc's ateliers formed the wood into a stunning Meisterstück and finished each piece with a high gloss lacquer.
Limited to 113 pieces, each individual pen is also unique due to the effects of the Tsunami's waves and the seawater. Each cap is also finished with a mother of pearl emblem. Exclusive to Japan, proceeds from the pen will goto various organizations including the School Educational Foundation of Rikuzentakata for the purchase of school equipment and AidTAKATA supporting international education among children.
