Apple has announced some major processor upgrades for its MacBook Pro line with the introduction of its first 8-core laptops. The laptops are now available with faster 8th- and 9th-generation Intel Core processors offering Turbo Boost speeds up to 5.0GHz. The 13-inch MacBook Pros will also be receiving faster quad-core processors that feature Turbo Boost speeds of up to 4.7GHz. Buyers who want an 8-core processor will be able to spec one today in the $2,3999 base model for an additional $300, which gets you a 2.4GHz 8-core 9th-generation Core i9 with Turbo Boost up to 5.0GHz.
