A watch made in Nepal isn't something you come across everyday, in fact, the Kobold Himalaya is the first watch to ever carry the designation. The idea started two years ago when founder Michael Kobold assigned two former sherpas to a 10-month-long stay in the US where they learned to build and repair watches. And thus the Kobold Watch Company Nepal Pvt. Ltd. was born. The first watch to come out of the venture is the appropriately named Himalaya ($3,450) which features a 316L stainless steel case and a Swiss automatic movement. The watch will also come in a limited Everest edition ($16,500 - left) which features a dial made from a piece of rock sourced from the summit of Mount Everest. Link
