The follow-up to the 1948, the 1980 fast forwards to the 1980s, taking inspiration from the aviator frames worn by the director during the filming of The Shining and Full Metal Jacket. Constructed out of lightweight beta titanium, the 1980 comes in both sun and optical variants and features epoxy-filled engravings on the temples, hidden hinges, double-laminated acetate temple tips, beta titanium nosepads, and anti-reflective gradient lenses in the sun model.
