The new MiraTex strap seen here on IWC Environmental & Community Projects Advisor, Gisele Bündchen

IWC is first to market with a new collection of straps made out of plant-based MiraTex materials. An eco-friendly alternative to leather, the company worked closely with Natural Fiber Welding to construct straps out of Mirum. Mirum is biobased and circular, composed of FSC-certified natural rubber, cork powder, and mineral colorants and contains no petrochemicals or plastic. The material also allows them to skip the tanning process, significantly reducing the need for the amount of resources that or typically needed in animal and synthetic leathers.
