Ikepod teases its return to watchmaking

The watches will be designed by Emmanuel Gueit.
2018 Ikepod

There was one significant announcement that got lost amongst all the big watch news from Baselworld and that is the return of Ikepod. Founded by Oliver Ike and Marc Newson, it's not clear how much the two original founders are involved, if at all, but one person that has been confirmed to be working on the project is watch designer, Emmanuel Gueit. Gueit, a legendary designer in his own right, is best known for designing the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore.

Two designs have been teased, a sleek two-hand model and a chronograph, both of which have stuck to the Ikepod design language we all know and love. No word yet on when these will hit the market, but the company has announced it will be launching a crowdfunding campaign sometime this year.
