Maharishi creates a camo version of the Weejuns
The Weejun has certainly earned its place among the most iconic footwear designs of all time. Originally introduced in 1936, G.H. Bass based the design on a shoe worn by Norwegian fisherman, which became a popular fashion staple all across Europe. G.H. Bass' design updated the style with a strip of leather on the saddle o the shoe, creating the first-ever penny loafer and the rest is history. Maharishi is giving the shoe a stealthy update this year with its signature camo pattern stamped onto the leather for a fresh yet subtle twist on footwear staple.
The Maharishi x G.H. Bass Weejuns will be available soon at the brand's online store and its retail shops in London and New York.
