Blancpain reissues the Fifty Fathoms Barakuda from the 1960s
Blancpain fans looking for a classic Fifty Fathoms design in a smaller case will be excited to know that the company is reissuing the Barakuda model in a 40mm case. Originally issued to the German military, the new model recreates the original design's styling with red-accented indices, vintage-styled lume, and a luminous unidirectional bezel that's topped with sapphire. The movement is an automatic Frederic Piguet cal. 1151, which has an impressive 95-hour power reserve and an 18k gold rotor that can be seen through the sapphire caseback.
