Designed for the US Military, the Benrus Type 1 was built to meet the Department of Defense's MIL-W-50717 standard, a specification that would ensure the perfect operation of a watch on the field, in the water, and in virtually any tough environment. The styling and rugged qualities of the watch have been fully maintained with just a few modern upgrades such as a double-domed sapphire crystal, an anodized aluminum 12-hour bezel insert that is graduated for the first twenty minutes, and an automatic ETA 2681 movement with a 40-hour power reserve. Other details include a 42.5mm bead-blasted 316L stainless steel case, BWG9 Super-LumiNova on the hands, indexes, and bezel triangle, and a black two-piece nylon strap.
