For their latest Code 11.59 timepieces, Audemars Piguet offers a new case option that mixes a black ceramic middle case with a bezel and caseback made out of 18-carat white or pink gold. The unique case construction required the help of Bangerter, a specialist in advanced ceramics, who sintered the material at temperatures of 2,552 degrees Fahrenheit to reach the hardness levels needed for this timepiece. The material is eventually finished by hand and fitted between the white or pink gold bezel and caseback. The movement is their Caliber 4401 automatic, which features a chronograph and a power reserve of 70 hours.
