A. Lange & Söhne celebrates the birth and rebirth of the brand with three new Saxonias
This week marks an important time in the history of A. Lange & Söhne as it marks the founding of the brand 175 years ago and the relaunch in 1990. On this occasion, Lange is celebrating these two anniversaries with three stunning examples of German watchmaking. First up is the Saxonia Thin (right), a refined showcase of elegance in 18-carat white gold that encases a sparkling solid-silver dial with black gold flux. The slim 40mm dress watch also houses the watchmaker's immaculately-finished L093.1 manually wound movement, which has a power reserve of 72 hours.
Joining the Saxonia Thin is two renditions of the Saxonia Outsize Date (left) in 18-carat white gold or 18-carat pink gold. The 38.5mm watches feature argenté-colored dials with chamfered and polished baton details in solid-gold and the model's namesake outsize date at 12 o'clock. The movement is a Lange L086.8 automatic with a 72 hour power reserve.
