Salomon's Index.01 sneaker is designed to be recycled into new products at the end of its life
The shoe will eventually be turned into ski boots and new fabric.
Salomon Advanced's Index.01 is a new model that starts its life as a running shoe with an upper that is made out of recycled polyester atop a TPU sole. The shoe features Salomon's R.Camber rocker geometry, a 9mm drop, and a molded sock liner. What's really interesting is what happens to the shoe at the end of its use. The company designed the shoe to be upcycled as the upper and bottom elements of the shoe can be turned into two individual products. The upper can be reused as fabric while the bottom will be used in the making of a new pair of alpine ski boots.
