Running isn't the first thing to come to mind when you see Nike's new LunarEpic Flyknit. The unconventional design was inspired by their Magista football boot, which emulates the extended collar feature that helps to better secure the foot. The one-piece Flyknit upper also helps to maintain a snug fit, locking down the arch, heel, and forefoot.

The midsole of the shoe uses a dual-injection technology, a development that ditches glue and instead uses heat to fuse together their Lunarlon construction to enhance cushioning and flexibility. The outsole of the shoe uses no rubber and is built entirely out of Lunarlon foam with "laser-siped geometric pistons" that move individually for an improved ride and better cushioning and traction.
