Nike is debuting the lightest football boot they've ever produced and to create it they used castor beans, yes, you head right, beans. The GS Football Boot ($300) features renewable materials in the upper and plate to achieve the shoe's lightweight qualities. To do this, Nike made the high performance sole plate out of Pebax Renu, a renewable, plant-dervied resource made with 97% castor beans which is also used in the sockliner. Link
