Federal Moto's Chicago shop whips up their first cafe racer
The Canadian bike builder is opening a new shop in Chicago and to mark the occasion they've created their first classic cafe racer from an old BMW R100. The bike gets a pretty thorough revamp with a back to basics design that is updated with a front fender, airbox hole cover, and a redesigned subframe.
A short leather seat with an integrated LED features a tail light and turn signals and below it sits a rebuilt motor with Mikuni VM34 carbs, brass screened velocity stacks, and twin mufflers in stainless steel. Other details include a Tommaselli throttle, Brooks leather grips, Goodridge brake lines, Avon RoadRiders tires.
