Vitra releases Barber Osgerby's Tip Ton in recycled plastic
The new models are made out of recycled household waste.
Originally released in 2011, the Tip Ton by Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby featured a unique design that tilted forward to help strengthen the pelvis and spine, allowing for improved circulation to the abdominal and back muscles. This year, the duo has teamed up with Vitra to release a new version of the Tip Ton but this time it's been reconstructed in recycled plastic. The recycled plastic is mixed with glass fibers to give the chairs the stability they need and the end result is a dark grey finish, which is the natural color of the recycled material.
