The vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) aircraft might be in the skies as early as 2020.

Uber has already dominated the ride sharing market, but now the company wants to make commuting by air a reality in the near future. If the ambitious project were to come to fruition, the service would use what they're calling vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) aircraft, which are battery powered and will be traveling at speeds up to 200 mph with a range of up to 60 miles. Uber hopes to have demo flights in Los Angeles by 2020 and flights in Texas and Dubai have also been announced.
