Read-Only Memory's Sega Arcade Pop Up Book

Whether it was Space Harrier or OutRun, it was hard to miss Sega's famed arcade cabinets. The customized cabinets were unlike anything out there at the time and helped to create an immersive feel from a 2D experience. Created in collaboration with Sega, SEGA Arcade: Pop-Up History is a clever pop-up book for adults, designers, and anyone who grew up in an arcade.

"SEGA Arcade: Pop-Up History presents five of the most iconic 'body sensation' cabinets – Hang-On, Space Harrier, OutRun, After Burner and Thunder Blade – in a suitably innovative form: as dazzling pop-up paper sculptures.

Each model will be accompanied by schematics, game artwork and historical context from Guardian games writer and best-selling novelist, Keith Stuart.

These sculptures have been created for Read-Only Memory by paper engineer Helen Friel, and painstakingly illustrated by renowned commercial artist Kam Tang."
