Highland Park introduces its latest bottle, Valknut, a whisky inspired by fallen Viking soldiers. The whisky is made using small amounts of Orkney-grown Tartan barley, which is matured in American oak ex-Sherry casks and will be the second edition in their Viking Legend Series. The tasting notes are described to have a nose of "toasted vanilla pods, cracked black pepper, oak shavings, aniseed, aromatic smoke" and a palate of "sweet, aromatic cloves with tangy hints of aniseed" with a finish of "aromatic peat smoke and sweet spices."
