HeavenSake debuts a sake with a French twist
Revered sake distiller, Dassai, has teamed up with Piper-Heidsieck cellar master Régis Camus to create HeavenSake, a unique Franco-Japanese blend that is unlike anything out on the market today. Taking his knowledge in creating fine Champagnes, Camus immersed himself in the world of sake and found himself in Iwakuni, Japan, where he worked with Dassai and oversaw the meticulous process of creating their famed beverage.
The nose of the sake is described as a "floral composition that mixes lily, iris, lilac, hyacinth and jasmine with some herbal notes" while the flavor is said to have a "tender, succulent texture like a pear at the beginning of summer, followed by the flavours of red fruits – raspberries, wild strawberries, Muscat grapes."
