Glenlivet's new 14 Year Old is finished in Cognac casks

Glenlivet is introducing a new 14 Year Old expression and it is the first in the company's portfolio to be selectively finished in ex-cognac casks. The whisky is described to have a nose with "sweet and fruity aromas of honey and apricot jam, with notes of sweet cinnamon bread and subtle sensation of spicy liquorice," a palate of "mandarins in syrup, ripe poached pears and chocolate-dipped raisins," and a raisin-rich finish that is imparted by its maturation in cognac casks.
