This just might be the most elegant sport utility vehicle on the planet. The Volvo V90 Cross Country takes the luxury wagon and readies it for an all-out assault from mother nature. The car gets a higher ground clearance, front skid plate, and charcoal wheel arch extensions to prep it for any terrain whether on or off road.

Tested to the extremes, Volvo put the new crossover through the wringer with testing done in the icy conditions of Northern Sweden to the face-melting desert terrain of Arizona. Its rugged exterior is paired with a plush interior that is lit by natural light from the panoramic glass roof.

It's also home to a variety of the latest technology and entertainment features including a Bowers & Wilkins sound system, semi-autonomous Pilot Assist tech, and City Safety that brakes the car automatically to avoid collisions with animals, pedestrians, and cyclists. They've also designed a dedicated app that connects you to your car to do things like pre-heat your car or activating a wi-fi hotspot.
