Volvo goes electric in 2019

Volvo has been making all the right moves as of late, beginning with a stunning interior and exterior overhaul that has put the Swedish carmaker back on the map and now they've announced they've announced a major commitment to electric-powered vehicles. Starting in 2019, every car that Volvo launches will have an electric motor.

This will include fully electric cars, twin engine plug-in hybrids, and 48-volt mild hybrids. They also plan to launch five all-electric models between 2019 and 2021 that will include three Volvos and two new high performance models from their recently rebooted Polestar marque, which is now its own electric car company.
