As Volkswagen slowly digs itself out of the hole that is dieselgate, the company looks to a future without fossil fuels with the I.D. Concept. The all-electric car is a preview of an all-electric compact that will launch in 2020. The car will be the first of range of electric cars and debuts a new design language for their alternative energy efforts.

The zero-emissions I.D. will have the capability of reaching a total range of up to 348 miles, which should cure the nerves of range anxious. It also previews their fully autonomous driving strategy with a steering wheel that retracts into the dashboard, a feature they aim to have available in 2025.
