Toyota unveils the GR Super Sport Concept

And they need to build this immediately.
Publish date:
Toyota Gazoo GR Super Sport Concept

Back in December, Toyota teased an LMP1-inspired supercar called the GR Super Sport Concept. Today, Toyota Gazoo Racing pulls the curtains to reveal the car at the Tokyo Auto Salon and showcases a hybrid racer that can produce almost 1000-hp. That is accomplished by a powertrain that uses a combination of a twin-turbo direct injection V6 and a Toyota Hybrid System-Racing (THS-R) engine.

That engine technology is derived from the TS050 Hybrid race car, which competes in WEC. No word if we'll get a GR Super Sport for the street, but do expect all the developments to trickle down to their future production sports cars.
