The Petersen Museum is showing its appreciation for the world of JDM with its new exhibit: “The Roots of Monozukuri: Creative Spirit in Japanese Automaking." Now open and running through April 2019, the exhibit will showcase many of the cars that jumpstarted the Japanese car industry such as a 1936 Toyoda AA (replica), a 1937 Datsun Model 16 Coupe, a 1966 Nissan Silvia CSP311, and a 1967 Toyota 2000GT. A second exhibit called “Fine Tuning: Japanese-American Customs” will highlight tuner cars and its impact on the American car market.
