Tesla's Model S P100D grabbed everyone's attention when the company announced that the car would be one of the fastest cars in the world and now it's getting even faster. What's even more impressive is that it won't take a visit to the dealer or any expensive modifications to obtain the upgrade.

All it will take is a free software update that will be available next month and it will knock down that 2.5 second 0-60 time to 2.4 seconds and it will be capable of hitting a 10.6 second quarter mile. To put that all in perspective, the $800,000+ Porsche 918 gets from 0-60 in 2.5. Welcome to the future, folks.
