As excited as we are for Ford's next generation GT, it will never hold a candle to the Ferrari-eating beast that was the GT40. Shelby, Superformance, and Safir GT40 are celebrating the iconic race car with a 50th Anniversary GT40 MKII that is a detailed reproduction of the original car. 90% of the car's parts are interchangeable with the original model and its chassis and gets modern touches like A/C, Wilwood brakes, Bilstein shocks, H&R springs, and an adjustable pedal box.

Three colorways of the car will be available: a Bruce McLaren edition (above) that is adorned in black paint with silver striping, a Ken Miles edition blue with white stripes, and a Dan Gurney edition in red and white stripes. Orders are now being taken by Shelby and the cars will be produced in a limited run of 20 examples.
