The new 911 Targa is here and it brings an evolution of the mechanism of the roof system from the 991 into the 992 generation. Available in all-wheel-drive Targa 4 and 911 Targa 4S models, the new Targas are powered by a six-cylinder, 3.0L twin-turbo boxer engine, producing 379 hp in the 4, allowing for a 0-60 time of four seconds and a top speed of 179 mph. The 4S has 443 hp, a 0-60 time of 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 188 mph. The 0-60 performance in both models are achieved with a PDK system and the optional Sport Chrono package.
The signature Targa bar and roof is an update to the system from the 991, which comes in silver and can also be finished in black. The roof opens and closes in 19 seconds and features a heated glass rear window, sound-deadening fabric, and an extendable wind deflector. Additional features include a seven-speed manual transmission, which comes with the Sport Chrono package standard, Porsche InnoDrive with an enhanced Smartlift function, and a Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus system (optional on the Targa 4)
The new Targa hits showrooms later this year.
