Porsche 550A

There simply is no mistaking the Porsche 550 body for anything else out there. It's as iconic as they come and incredibly rare and one of them is going up for sale this January.

Available for bidding at the Bonhams Scottsdale auction, this ultra-rare 550A has quite the history as it was a Porsche Works entrant and placed 5th overall at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and was the class winner at the Nürburgring 1000 KM.

The 550A kept the original styling of the 550 and the 1.5L engine, but also received a number of improvements including a space frame chassis instead of a ladder frame and a trailing-arm suspension that replaced the former's swing axles.
