A rare example of the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Electric Drive has just gone up for sale
The SLS AMG Electric Drive is one of the first modern electric supercars.
In 2012, Mercedes surprised the industry with a new SLS AMG that ditched its V8 for an all-electric motor. The supercar was designed to be a showcase of their EV technology with a high-performance system of four electric motors that puts out 740 hp and 737 lb-ft of torque. This allows for a 0-60 time of 3.9 seconds and it has an array of lithium-ion batteries for up to 155 miles of range. Only nine of these cars have been produced and RM Sotheby's has just put up an incredible example in a Green Electric finish that was delivered new to Switzerland and only has 2,300+ miles odometer.
