Mercedes unveils its flagship electric SUV
Mercedes continues to build out its all-electric lineup with the addition of a flagship SUV. Joining the EQS and EQE, the new EQS SUV is as long as the sedan it shares a name with but stands over 7.8" inches higher, enhancing comfort and adding room for up to seven seats. Just like the sedans, the SUV is designed to cut through the air with enhanced aerodynamics that not only aid in performance but helps it achieve its range of 372 miles (WLTP) on a single charge.
The SUV will come two variants: the 355 hp EQS 450+ (rear-wheel-drive) and the 536 hp EQS 580 4MATIC (all-wheel-drive). Both models support charging speeds of up to 200kW and can get from 10%-80% in a little over half an hour. Alongside the added interior space, the EQS SUV packs all the high-tech features and amenities of its sibling such as rear-axle steering at up to 10 degrees, DIGITAL LIGHT headlamps, an optional MBUX Hyperscreen, a Dolby Atmos surround sound system, two head-up display sizes, and a HEPA filter option.
